City & Guilds Medical Terminology Course

You can study Medical Terminology as a standalone course or you can add this course to any other course we provide.

The course is suitable for beginners as well as those already working as a Medical Secretary or Administrator who are looking to gain recognition for their knowledge and skills or who wish to have a refresher course in Medical Terminology.


Accreditation – City & Guilds/AMSPAR

Upon successful completion you will be awarded the:

City & Guilds/AMSPAR 5519-12 – Medical Terminology Award (Level 2)

City & Guilds/AMSPAR Medical Terminology qualification is one of the key qualifications for a Medical Secretary/Administrator.

If you prefer you can sit the NCFE CQ accredited exam at home.

Medical Terminology – 18 Modules

You will study a wide range of topics covering medical terminology which is key knowledge for a Medical Secretary/Administrator.

Studying With Us

This is a home study/distance learning course and you can complete the whole course at home.

The City & Guilds Medical Terminology Award is an external exam and you will need to sit this at a convenient City & Guilds exam centre, which we will source for you and send you contact details. You will pay for the exam entry fees direct to the centre.  Currently centres are charging between £90 and £150 to cover registration and invigilation costs.

The exam is held three times a year – February, June and November.  Exam entry is about 2 months before the exam date.

You will have one to one tuition throughout the course, corresponding with your personal tutor through email.

You will also have a Course Mentor who is there to provide additional support as and when required.

The course is open for 10 months for all students.


Course Fees

The course fees are £650 and include the text book, tutor support throughout and exam preparation and NCFE CQ registration fees if you sit the exam with this awarding body.

City & Guilds exam entry fees are paid directly to the exam centre.  Please see above.

If you sit the NCFE CQ accredited exam, there are no exam entry fees.
