Our courses are accredited by NCFE one of the leading UK vocational awarding bodies with 175 years of being involved in training, working alongside over 4,500 schools, colleges, training providers and employers.
NCFE is recognised as an awarding body by the qualification regulators, the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual), as well as by Qualifications Wales and CCEA in Northern Ireland.
NCFE also provide an accreditation service for specialised courses under their Customised Qualifications accreditation service which is designed to give formal recognition to bespoke courses that fall outside ‘regulated provision’ and is monitored by Ofqual.
Lewis College is an approved NCFE Customised Qualification Centre (Centre No 9000606).
As part of our approval we are inspected annually to ensure we continue to provide a quality assurance framework for the development, delivery and evaluation of our courses.
The inspection includes ensuring our internal quality assurance and assessment procedures are of the right standard as stipulated by NCFE.
We have consistently passed our inspections with an “Excellent” grade in all aspects of the inspection.

A Word from our Founder
I’m Penny Lewis, the founder of Lewis College. I’m so proud to have been a part of this remarkable journey for over 40 years now. Back in 1984, I started Lewis College with a mission to provide quality education to students in Devon specialising in Secretarial/PA roles. Over the years, our reach has expanded beyond the local area and we’ve welcomed students from all across the UK and even the world.
In the 2005, we started offering our courses through online/distance learning and home study. This was a big step for us, and we were one of the first colleges to embrace this new technology.
Today, our online courses allow us to reach even more students and help them achieve their dreams and goals, no matter where they are in the world.
I’m passionate about education and I’m dedicated to ensuring that our students receive the best possible learning experience.

I studied the Medical Secretary Diploma with Lewis College and had a really positive experience. The tutors were friendly, very supportive and always quick to respond to any questions. I have completed the Level 3 Medical Secretary Course with Lewis College. I have really enjoyed the course and it's content. Some of the content I already had experience with but there was lots I had not done before and I am glad to be able to refresh and add to my knowledge, and also be able to prove to future employers that I am able to do these things - a big tick for my CV! I started this course when working in a call centre which I did not enjoy and wanted a change. I have since changed to a band 3 medical secretary role in the NHS with no previous experience in healthcare whilst I was in the middle of this course and I definitely think mentioning it my interview gave me a big leg up. The tutors are all very friendly and encouraging. I would be happy to complete another course with Lewis College.
