A beacon of professional education for over four decades. Established in 1984 by Penny Lewis, our journey began when women in business faced significant challenges. Penny, fresh from teacher training and armed with nearly a decade of experience as a PA in London and Devon, defied the norms of the male-dominated business world. Her determination to succeed was met with scepticism from banks and other businesses, yet she persevered, becoming a trailblazer for women entrepreneurs in the 1980s.
Technological Advancements
Lewis College has been at the forefront of technological advancements since its inception. We transitioned from manual typewriters to electric, then electronic typewriters, and finally embraced the AMSTRAD computers, continuously updating our curriculum to match the evolving landscape. As early adopters of modern computers, we ensured our students received training that kept pace with technological progress.
Pioneering Online Courses Since 2004
Our commitment to innovation extended to our teaching methods. In 2004, recognising the changing preferences for learning, we pioneered online courses, becoming one of the first colleges in the UK to do so. This shift allowed us to reach students across the UK and internationally, providing flexible learning options that fit diverse lifestyles.
