Online courses for PAs, EAs & Medical Secretaries
We have a remarkable history of success – our students’ success for 40 years! Founded and established in 1984 by Penny Lewis Cert Ed who is still actively involved with the development and teaching at the College.
Initially we provided classroom based courses for local students from Devon with students from other parts of the country studying with us and staying with host families in the 90s.
As we moved into the 21st century, technology moved on enabling us to provide our courses through distance learning/home study opening up our courses to thousands of students over the years from all parts of the UK and worldwide. We were one of the first colleges to provide this.
We are inspected by NCFE every year to ensure standards are maintained across the full range of criteria set out by the awarding body. Each year we have been awarded Excellent – so you know you will be studying with a professional, independent college with a long history in education.
We have been an approved centre for various awarding bodies over the years including:
AMSPAR
Our training has included specialist AMSPAR qualifications in Medical Terminology, ensuring students gain industry-recognised expertise in healthcare administration.
Pitman Qualifications
We have a long history with Pitman, where two of our students achieved national recognition in consecutive years, each receiving their award from the Secretary of State for Education at the Houses of Parliament — a mark of excellence for both the students and the College.
SA / OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and RSA)
Lewis College has delivered qualifications through RSA and later OCR, two of the UK’s most respected awarding bodies, recognised for their rigorous standards in office and administrative training.
NCFE
Lewis College’s current qualifications are accredited by NCFE, a leading awarding organisation known for high-quality vocational and technical qualifications across the UK.
Expert Tutor Support
Qualified and experienced tutors will be working with you throughout the course providing feedback to submitted work, guidance and tutoring via email with the option to book phone/video calls when required.

Just completed my Executive Assistant Diploma with Lewis College. Fantastic support from all tutors, helpful and friendly, and really flexible course to work at your own pace. Course content really interesting and the student portal was easy to access. Would definitely recommend.
Can’t recommend this college enough. I completed an online Medical Secretary Diploma Course with them. The course itself was excellent and to a very high standard. It was also enjoyable. The staff and tutors are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
I recently completed the Level 3 Executive PA Diploma course and I couldn't recommend it enough! There are 29 well-structured units all together which really help you to acquire or develop your skills surrounding the role of a PA.
