Autumn 2009
Having up to date qualifications is the key to surviving this economic gloom at the moment - although the signs of recovery are beginning to show.
To enable you to have the best choice of jobs - gaining more qualifications is the key.
Many potential students are contacting us whose qualifications are some 10 years plus old - and no longer reflect the skills required in today's business world.
Updating your skills and adding new skills and qualifications is now becoming essential if you wish to keep up with others looking for the same type of jobs and to help you keep competitive in the job market.
NEW - SEPTEMBER 2009!!!!!
With the introduction of the Qualification and Credit Framework, vocational qualifications are gradually being updated to reflect modern demands in business today.
Diplomas created under the above scheme are designed to enable students to build up their Diplomas - either to a Level 2 or Level 3, by gaining individual qualifications that all have a different number of credits.
Individual qualifications can have, for example, 2,3 or 5 or more credits.
To gain a Diploma, you would need to have 37 credits.
Form the 1 September 2009, OCR launched two new Diplomas created under the new Government's Qualification and Credit Framework, which is replacing the National Qualifications Framework.
Diploma in Administration
This Diploma covers a wide range of skills required when working in business and is available at a Level 2 or Level 3 through this College.
Many people who are already working may well find they can gain individual qualifications to identify the skills they already have through their current job, and therefore building their Diploma will not take long.
For others, new skills will be developed to enable them to cope with a busy office environment in a range of different postions.
Exams are through assessments which you can complete at work or home - there are no formal timed exams - which means you can gain an Administration Diploma very easily.
ITQ 2009 Diploma
This new Diploma links in with CLAIT - but provides a much wider range of different software programs which can be used for assessment purposes.
Again, the Level 2 and Level 3 Diplomas are geared to those working, who use different software in their daily jobs and who would benefit from having their skills acknowledged, by gaining relevant individual qualifications.
Assessments can be carried out using work based tasks - and no formal timed exams are required.
We are accredited to run both these new Diplomas and are introducing them into our courses from this term
Nowadays it is a must to have at least one Diploma in either Secretarial, IT or Administration skills if you wish to work in business - in any type of position.
The more qualifications you have - the more chance you will have in securing a position in this tough job market.
Just a reminder - any of our courses can be modified to reflect existing knowledge and experience - helping you to build on your existing skills to gain a recognised qualification quickly - and to help in reducing the cost of training.
