Overview

This is a shorter course covering just 2 OCR Diplomas at Level 2 covering Secretarial and Admin skills.

This course is suitable if you wish to study a shorter course as you already have some prior experience or qualifications in IT.

The option to add on the third OCR Diploma is available with a 10% discount if you enrol on the course within 12 months of completing this course, or top up to Level 3 OCR Diplomas to increase your job opportunities.

Word Processing

Developing your editing skills, creating tables, documents with pictures and how to use auto text

Document Presentation

Learning how to use desk top publishing in Word to create a range of display documents

Mail Merge

Learning how to set up mail shots using Word for letter templates and Excel and Word for data files

Audio Transcription

Producing business documents from dictation to a business standard

Shorthand Transcription

Writing speech at a verbatim level up to 60 wpm, useful for business meetings and taking messages OR Business Presentations

Business Presentations

Using PowerPoint to create slide presentations using a range of different slide formats

Speed Keying/Computer Keyboarding

Developing your touch typing skills and speed to over 35 wpm

OCR Level 2 Diploma in Administration

Composing Business Documents

Develop your skills in composing a range of different business documents

Working in Administration

Learn about the role of a Secretary/Administrator and carry out some routine tasks

Legislation affecting the Office Environment

Learn about different legislation affecting working in the business world

Supporting Business Meetings

Learn how to support preparing for a business meeting

Diary Management

Develop your skills in organising both manual and digital diaries

Duration

You can study this course full-time, or part-time – studying the number of hours per week that suits you and fits in with your other commitments.

We recommend that you study at least 5 hours a week, which can be broken up into one hour study slots perhaps, or 2-3 hours on a Saturday and Sunday if you find that easier.

Some students wish to study as quickly as possible – and complete the course in as short a time as possible.

The choice is yours!

For your guidance, if you study regularly these hours, you should complete the course within:

The maximum duration within which this course needs to be completed is 10 months.

The course is put on hold whilst you or the College are on holiday - enabling you to have holiday breaks whilst studying your course.
