Overview

This course is our flagship course and enables you to progress your career quickly and effectively in the business world.

This is the only course we provide where you will cover all 3 Diplomas in Secretarial, IT and Administration.

This course is suitable if you wish to be a PA at the highest level – working for an MD or CEO and possibly looking at moving on to management level at a later stage.

This course is suitable if you are a beginner, wishing to have a full professional career or if you already have some experience and you now wish to develop your career further.

If you have been working for many years as a PA or Secretary, but you do not have any qualifications, you can study this course under our fast track scheme where your prior knowledge and experience is taken into consideration and course fees are reduced.

OCR Level 3 Diploma in IT
OCR Level 3 Diploma in Administration

Developing your skills in producing different types of business documents requiring advanced English and proof reading skills

Word Processing

Developing your editing skills on multi page documents using a full range of Word tools, creating complex tables, documents in columns and leaflets

Document Presentation

Learning how to use desk top publishing in Word to create advanced display documents including diagrams

Mail Merge

Learning how to set up mail shots using Word for letter templates and Excel and Word for data files

Audio Transcription

Producing business documents from dictation requiring advanced English and proof reading skills

Shorthand Transcription

Writing speech at a verbatim level up to 70 wpm, useful for business meetings and taking messages

Speed Keying

Developing your touch typing skills and speed to over 55 wpm

OCR Level 3 Diploma in IT

 

Word

Developing word processing skills to a high standard covering a range of Word tools to create complex documents

PowerPoint

Creating complex slide presentations using a range of different slide displays, speakers notes, transition effects and animation effects

Publisher

Producing quality publications suitable for brochures, leaflets used at exhibitions and other promotional requirements

Outlook

Developing email, and personal information management skills to help organise yourself and your line manager

Excel

Learning how to use spread sheets to produce statistical information, create advanced formulae and functions, charts and reports

Access

Developing ability to create complex databases, enter data, interrogate data and produce reports

Internet Explorer

Developing your skills in using this program to search the WWW for research purposes

IT Productivity

Understanding how to use different programs in the office environment

Composing Complex Business Documents

Develop your skills in composing a range of different complex business documents

Understanding Functions and Roles of Business Organisations

Develop your knowledge and understanding about business organisations and their functions

Learn about different legislation affecting working in the business world

Learn how to support preparing for a business meeting and prepare meeting documents

Develop your skills in carrying out research using the Internet and prepare a complex report

Selection and Recruitment

Develop your skills learning how to prepare job descriptions, person specifications and job advert

Office Procedures

Develop your skills in analysing procedures used in the office, how to review and amend them to improve efficiency

Duration

You can study this course full-time, or part-time – studying the number of hours per week that suits you and fits in with your other commitments.

We recommend that you study at least 5 hours a week, which can be broken up into one hour study slots perhaps, or 2-3 hours on a Saturday and Sunday if you find that easier.

Some students wish to study as quickly as possible – and complete the course in as short a time as possible.

The choice is yours!

For your guidance, if you study regularly these hours per week, you should complete the course within:

Over 30 hours per week on average

4 months

The maximum duration within which this course needs to be completed is 22 months.

The course is put on hold whilst you or the College are on holiday - enabling you to have holiday breaks whilst studying your course.
