Publisher enables you to create professional looking brochures, newsletters, articles, leaflets etc for marketing purposes.
Publisher is a desk top publishing program which provides a more polished look to a document you wish to produce to send to clients/customers, either in printed format or digitally.
You will have greater control and more precision in the layout of the document compared to Word, although many of the features are similar.
Publisher is perhaps the smallest program out of all the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
There are 3 Levels to choose from. For Level 2 and 3 you will need prior knowledge. Level 1 is for complete beginners.
Touch typing can be included in any of these courses to help develop your touch typing and speed typing skills. This is a free option for all of our Secretarial Courses.

Level 1
At the basic level you will learn how to create some simple documents using desktop publishing software including using text, images, graphics, video and sound. You will learn about templates, house styles, colour and font schemes. You will learn about different publication media such as the Web, document and multimedia, formatting and editing documents.
Level 2
Your skills will be developed to a business standard, building on your basic knowledge of Publisher, creating more complex publications and using a wider range of tools within the program. You will learn how to manipulate images and graphic elements, control text flow, format text, develop page design techniques, controlling white space, columns, orientation, using borders, shading, logos etc to produce quality publications.
Level 3
At the advanced level, your skills will be developed to an advanced level working on more complex designs, styles and formatting, identifying quality problems, understanding about legislation affecting publications, and producing quality professional documents.
You can study this course full-time, or part-time – studying the number of hours per week that suits you and fits in with your other commitments.
We recommend that you study at least 5 hours a week, which can be broken up into one hour study slots perhaps, or 2-3 hours on a Saturday and Sunday if you find that easier.
Some students wish to study as quickly as possible – and complete the course in as short a time as possible.

The maximum duration within which a single Level course needs to be completed is 2 months.
The course is put on hold whilst you or the College are on holiday - enabling you to have holiday breaks whilst studying your course.
