Overview

This course is suitable if you have been working as a Medical Secretary for several years, and already have gained the AMSPAR/City & Guilds Medical Terminology Award at Level 2, and now wish to develop your knowledge and understanding further.

This qualification is particularly important if you wish to work at Consultancy level developing your medical terminology knowledge to an advanced level.

AMSPAR/City & Guilds merged a few years ago and are recognised in the medical profession to provide key qualifications for those working in medical administration.

Duration

You can study this course full-time, or part-time – studying the number of hours per week that suits you and fits in with your other commitments.

We recommend that you study at least 5 hours a week, which can be broken up into one hour study slots perhaps, or 2-3 hours on a Saturday and Sunday if you find that easier.

Some students wish to study as quickly as possible – and complete the course in as short a time as possible.

The choice is yours!

For your guidance, if you study regularly these hours per week, you should complete the course within:

20 hours per week on average

3 months

The maximum duration within which this course needs to be completed is 8 months.

The course is put on hold whilst you or the College are on holiday - enabling you to have holiday breaks whilst studying your course.
