If you want to be a Medical Secretary – then this is the course for you. This course is suitable if you have prior experience in either secretarial or medical knowledge and you now wish to specialise to enable you to work in your local hospital or medical centre.
Gaining the Level 2 or Level 3 AMSPAR/City & Guilds Medical Terminology qualification is the key to working as a Medical Secretary.
If you are a nurse looking to change your career direction, then this course would offer you the range of qualifications to complement your existing medical knowledge.
Depending on your prior knowledge and experience in medical work, you would either study the Level 2 AMSPAR/City & Guilds Medical Terminology or Level 3.
You will be studying for the following:

AMSPAR/City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 Medical Terminology

You can study this course full-time, or part-time – studying the number of hours per week that suits you and fits in with your other commitments.
We recommend that you study at least 5 hours a week, which can be broken up into one hour study slots perhaps, or 2-3 hours on a Saturday and Sunday if you find that easier.
Some students wish to study as quickly as possible – and complete the course in as short a time as possible.
