This is a short course designed to give you the opportunity to gain secretarial skills to an advanced level to get you into the business world, when your degree will then start to have an impact.
Careers advice and guidance will include covering ideas on how you can use your degree in different types of businesses when combined with the OCR qualifications gained on this course, to help making the most of your degree.
You will be studying for the:

Developing your editing skills on multi page documents using a full range of Word tools, creating complex tables, documents in columns and leaflets |

Learning how to use desk top publishing in Word to create advanced display documents including diagrams |

Learning how to set up mail shots using Word for letter templates and Excel and Word for data files |

Audio Transcription |
Producing business documents from dictation requiring advanced English and proof reading skills |

Business Presentations |
Using PowerPoint to create slide presentations using a range of different slide formats |

Speed Keying |
Developing your touch typing skills and speed to over 55 wpm |
You can study this course full-time, or part-time – studying the number of hours per week that suits you and fits in with your other commitments.
We recommend that you study at least 5 hours a week, which can be broken up into one hour study slots perhaps, or 2-3 hours on a Saturday and Sunday if you find that easier.
Some students wish to study as quickly as possible – and complete the course in as short a time as possible.
