Overview

This course is designed to develop your skills in Administration and IT enabling you to gain business standard qualifications with OCR.

You would learn a full range of IT and administrative tasks enabling you to feel more confident and capable of holding down a wide range of different Administrative jobs within the business world.

You also have the option of adding on Level 3 Diplomas later on with the benefit of 10% discount if you enrol within 12 months of completing this course, developing your career even further.

You will be studying for 2 Diplomas on this Course as follows:

OCR Level 2 Diploma in IT

OCR Level 2 Diploma in Administration

Develop your skills in organising both manual and digital diaries

Organising a Business Event

Learn how to plan and organise a business event

Organising Travel and Accommodation

Develop your skills in how to organise travel and accommodation for business trips

Office Procedures

Develop your skills in analysing procedures used in the office, how to review and amend them to improve efficiency

Carry out Research and prepare a Report

Develop your skills in carrying out research using the Internet etc and prepare a complex Report

OCR Level 2 Diploma in IT

Word

Developing word processing skills to a high standard covering a range of Word tools to create complex documents

PowerPoint

Creating complex slide presentations using a range of different slide displays, speakers notes, transition effects and animation

Outlook

Developing email, and personal information management skills to help organise yourself and your line manager

Publisher

Producing quality publications suitable for brochures, leaflets used at exhibitions and other promotional requirements

Excel

Learning how to use spread sheets to produce statistical information, create formulae and functions, charts and reports

Access

Developing ability to create databases, enter data, interrogate data and produce reports

Internet Explorer

Developing your skills in using this program to search the WWW for research purposes

IT Productivity

Understanding how to use different programs in the office environment

Duration

You can study this course full-time, or part-time – studying the number of hours per week that suits you and fits in with your other commitments.

We recommend that you study at least 5 hours a week, which can be broken up into one hour study slots perhaps, or 2-3 hours on a Saturday and Sunday if you find that easier.

Some students wish to study as quickly as possible – and complete the course in as short a time as possible.

The choice is yours!

For your guidance, if you study regularly these hours per week, you should complete the course within:

5 hours per week on average  

12 months

10 hours per week on average

6 months

20 hours per week on average

3 months

Over 30 hours per week on average

8 weeks

The maximum duration within which this course needs to be completed is 12 months.

The course is put on hold whilst you or the College are on holiday - enabling you to have holiday breaks whilst studying your course.
