How long!
We have a remarkable history of success - our students’ success for nearly 30 years!
We have been teaching local students in Devon and Cornwall for many years, but over 7 years ago we developed our courses to make them available for students to study at home - giving them a very flexible method of learning - but without losing the individual touch.
Our on-line learning courses are extremely popular as they provide flexibility, positive and reliable support, and qualifications that count - and which will make a difference to anyone's career.
How Unique!
We are a unique independent College - providing tuition as close as possible to the classroom experience, communicating several times a day with some students if they are studying full time. There is almost at times a "chat room" environment between the tutors and students - especially when we have students studying live during the day time.
The College is based in a lovely village setting within Torbay - situated in the well known Ilsham valley leading down to the sea.
The teaching team is led by Penny Lewis - who is very hands on and who likes to monitor personally the progress of every student whilst studying at Lewis College.
Other tutors have been with the College for a number of years and together form a solid team teaching and guiding students through their course.
We teach people individually, patiently and with a lot of understanding.
We teach all types of people - school leavers, returners, graduates and GAP year students as well as those looking to change their career and those who have been working for a while but with few or no qualifications.
What a success!
Past students have received special recognition by the Pitman Qualifications and London Chamber of Commerce with special presentations at the Houses of Parliament by the then Education Minister.
We have a 100% success pass rate for our IT and Administration Diplomas, and just over 98% success rate for those sitting the Text Processing set timed exams at local OCR test centres.
On average we have over 300 exam entries per year - and this is growing!
Not only do students have the benefit of personal attention throughout, but also support and practical help in securing a job - in different parts of the UK and even abroad.
Who do we teach?
Many students come to us to enable them to change their jobs - and even in this economic climate the success rate has been very high.
Other students are looking to change their careers - and after completing perhaps just part of the course find that new job opportunities in Secretarial and PA positions become available.
Others are looking to cope with their current jobs more efficiently and effectively and are amazed at what they can learn to help them deal with their daily workload much more easily.
We have about 200 students studying with us at the present time - and we have an annual intake of between 200-300 students on average.
Success is the key to our courses - not just in passing exams and gaining Diplomas, but also in moving forwards with careers, getting a better job, more money and higher living standards as a result!
