Overview

This course enables you to gain the key skills in three areas of PA work – Secretarial, IT and Administration, to get your career moving fast in the PA job market!

With these qualifications you will feel confident to apply for a range of PA vacancies where a knowledge in Secretarial, IT and Administration are required.

If you enrol to study further modules to complete the OCR Diplomas, within 12 months of completing this course, you will be entitled to a 10% discount.

You will be studying for 3 OCR Certificates on this Course as follows:

OCR Level 3 Certificate in Text Processing

OCR Level 3 Certificate in IT

OCR Level 3 Certificate in Administration

OCR Level 3 Certificate in Text Processing

Text Production

Developing your skills in producing different types of business documents requiring advanced English and proof reading skills

Word Processing

Developing your editing skills on multi page documents using a full range of Word tools, creating complex tables, documents in columns and leaflets

Mail Merge

Learning how to set up mail shots using Word for letter templates and Excel and Word for data files

Audio Transcription

Producing business documents from dictation requiring advanced English and proof reading skills

OCR Level 3 Certificate in Administration

Composing Complex Business Documents

Develop your skills in composing a range of different complex business documents

Understanding Functions and Roles of Business Organisations

Develop your knowledge and understanding about business organisations and their functions

Diary Management

Develop your skills in managing both manual and computerised diary systems.

Business Meetings

Learn how to support preparing for a business meeting and prepare meeting documents

OCR Level 3 Certificate in IT

PowerPoint

Creating complex slide presentations using a range of different slide displays, speakers notes, transition effects and animation

Excel

Learning how to use spread sheets to produce statistical information, create advanced formulae and functions, charts and reports

Access

Developing ability to create complex databases, enter data, interrogate data and produce reports

IT Productivity

Understanding how to use different programs in the office environment

 

Duration

You can study this course full-time, or part-time – studying the number of hours per week that suits you and fits in with your other commitments.


We recommend that you study at least 5 hours a week, which can be broken up into one hour study slots perhaps, or 2-3 hours on a Saturday and Sunday if you find that easier.

Some students wish to study as quickly as possible – and complete the course in as short a time as possible.

The choice is yours!

For your guidance, if you study regularly these hours per week, you should complete the course within:

5 hours per week on average

10 hours per week on average

6 months

20 hours per week on average

4 months

Over 30 hours per week on average

The maximum duration within which this course needs to be completed is 11 months.

The course is put on hold whilst you or the College are on holiday - enabling you to have holiday breaks whilst studying your course.
